Wisdom
|
- Wisdom
- Wisdom is a deep understanding and realizing of people, things, events or situations, resulting in the ability to choose or act or inspire to consistently produce the optimum results with a minimum of time, energy or thought. It is the ability to optimally (effectively and efficiently) apply perceptions and knowledge and so produce the desired results. Wisdom is also the comprehension of what is true or right coupled with optimum judgment as to action (Wikipedia)

- By C.S. Lewis
- "When a man is getting better he understands more and more clearly the evil that is still left in him. When a man is getting worse he understands his own badness less and less." C.S. Lewis
- "When a man is getting better he understands more and more clearly the evil that is still left in him. When a man is getting worse he understands his own badness less and less." C.S. Lewis
- "God created things which had free will. That means creatures which can go either wrong or right. Some people think they can imagine a creature which was free but had no possibility of going wrong; I cannot. If a thing is free to be good it is also free to be bad. And free will is what has made evil possible. Why, then, did God give them free will? Because free will, though it makes evil possible, is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having." C.S. Lewis
- "These, then, are the two points I wanted to make. First, that human beings, all over the earth, have this curious idea that they ought to behave in a certain way, and cannot really get rid of it. Secondly, that they do not in fact behave in that way. They know the Law of Nature; they break it. These two facts are the foundation of all clear thinking about ourselves and the universe we live in." C.S. Lewis
- "When you come to knowing God, the initiative lies on His side. If He does not show Himself, nothing you can do will enable you to find Him. And, in fact, He shows much more of Himself to some people than to others---not because He has favourites, but because it is impossible for Him to show Himself to a man whose whole mind and character are in the wrong condition. Just as sunlight, though it has no favourites, cannot be reflected in a dusty mirror as clearly as in a clean one." C.S. Lewis
- "Like a good chess player, Satan is always trying to manuever you into a position where you can save your castle only by losing your bishop." C.S. Lewis
- "The enemy will not see you vanish into God's company without an effort to reclaim you."
- "The lost enjoy forever the horrible freedom they have demanded..."
- "God, who foresaw your tribulation, has specially armed you to go through it, not without pain but without stain."
- "Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important."
- "Relying on God has to begin all over again every day as if nothing yet had been done."
- "Faith is the art of holding on to things your reason has once accepted in spite of your changing moods."
